Often referred to as 'springy tarmac', wet pour is manufactured from rubber granules mixed with resin, which is then laid onto an existing hard surface, or an area specifically excavated to the exact dimensions required.

The depth of surfacing required varies according to the critical fall height of the equipment.

Wetpour is great for producing innovative designs. As it is laid 'wet', shapes can be formed.

Combinations of colours can be used to create bright patterns, and inlay techniques can be used to create an attractive contemporary play environment.

Once applied, it is seamless (except on larger areas), and has the advantage of being virtually maintenance free.

Wet pour surfacing can also be used for contemporary designs, as shown here with this innovative driving track complete with road markings, and zebra crossing.

This track design can be used to help children learn about road safety in a fun way, whilst also providing a safe floor should they fall.

Achieving the Correct Level of Safety

During the planning stage, we will advise what sort of thickness will be required for the safe surface.

This is based on the Head Injury Chart (shown below), which shows the maximum fall distance with each thickness of rubber flooring..

Once we know the height of the apparatus to be installed, we can then suggest a suitable thickness of rubber flooring.

The thickness of safety flooring required is dependent on the fall height.

This diagram shows the thickness and the corresponding fall height range.
